A writer and producer, raised in Los Angeles. She graduated with honors from California State University, Fullerton, and double majored in broadcast journalism and sociology. Karen is a three-time Emmy winner, and has also written several films for Netflix, including Hallmark, and Lifetime. Karen was the first-ever television journalist to work with a combat Apache helicopter unit in Afghanistan, where she wrote, produced, and hosted an ABC one-hour television documentary, for which she won an Emmy Award in 2007. Her most famous work includes A Christmas Prince (2017), Christmas Camp (2018), Every Day Is Christmas (2018), and Rediscovering Christmas (2019).
