The artist Ezzat Al Hagyen was born in the city of Cairo. He received his basic education in the schools of the Shubra neighborhood, then joined the Faculty of Law, Cairo University. He worked as a lawyer, then joined the Ministry of the Interior, and his last position before retiring was Assistant Director of Security in Alexandria Governorate. He was a member of the Bar, and a member of the Syndicate of Authors and Composers. He appeared in the film Happy Day (1940).
