An Egyptian actor, author and director residing in the United States of America. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine in 1954 from Ain Shams University and then worked as a doctor in the army. Then he traveled to study cinema in the United States in the 60s. He worked as an actor and then director in Egyptian and Lebanese cinema. He's best known for Bitter Grapes, Goodbye Poverty and Fire of Love.
