Mohamed Kamal Elmasry, known as “Sharafantah” was an Egyptian actor. He chose his nickname after a character he played on theater. He was born in Cairo, and showed a potential for becoming an actor since a very early age. He joined Salama Hegazi's theater troupe, then Sayed Darwish's and Naguib El Rihany's. He always played roles depicting wicked, miser old men, like in the plays “Mamlaket Al Hob” (Kingdom of Love) and “Yasmina”.
