Born on April 25, 1940 as Alfredo James Pacino, famously known as Al Pacino, in New York, Manhattan, a film and theater actor of Sicilian descent, Alfredo grew up in a poor family. His father was a salesman. In the mid- 1970s, director Francis Ford Coppola chose him to play the character of Michael Corleone, the mafia leader in The Godfather in 1972. Al Pacino also has worked as a director and producer. He has never been married. He has a son with his former girlfriend Jean Tarant, and twins with Beverly D'angelo.
