Biography

A Syrian actor, born in Aleppo in 1924. He joined the Artists Syndicate in 1968 and was one of the pioneers of the National Theater and television acting. He helped established a number of theatrical groups, including the Supporters of Acting and Cinema troupe and the People...Read more Theater troupe. He was sent to Egypt with the People Theater troupe by the Ministry of Culture in Damascus to present their play for a month at the July 23 theater in Cairo, then in Alexandria, Port Said, Tanta, and then Gaza. He was one of the first artists who worked on Syrian Arab TV. In 1960, he was appointed to the Ministry of Culture at the National Theater. He traveled to Lebanon, Egypt, and Kuwait and presented his theatrical works with a group of artists. He presented four films in the public sector and twenty-five films in the private sector. He died in 2005. He is known for Five-Star Family (1994), The Volcano (1989), and Abu El Hana's Dreams (1996).
