Amira Jawad is an Iraqi actress, born in Baghdad in 1955. She joined the National Acting Troupe in 1972, and graduated from the Theatrical Arts department at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Baghdad. She quickly rose to stardom, appearing in the play “Sherin and Ferhad,” after which she took lead and supporting roles in many theatrical productions. She also took roles in many famous television series. Her latest artistic contribution was at the eighteenth Cairo Experimental Theater Festival in 2007 and the Cultural Week of Damascus.
