Italian director born in Naples, Italy in 1896. He studied engineering before enrolling at the Academy of Arts where he studied painting and sculpting. He appeared in 1912 in Italian silent films and worked as an assistant director from 1914 to 1918, and starting 1920 he directed 5 silent films. He later moved to Egypt and directed the first Egyptian talking film The Song of the Heart (1932), after which he directed other films. He returned to Italy in 1937 and died in 1968.
