An Egyptian singer and actor, he did not get any academic degree and worked in many craft jobs. Until he got his chance that led him into the art world when the composer Zaki Mourad, the father of artists Laila Mourad, Mounir Mourad, heard him and decided to adopt him artistically. He broke into the field of acting through the movie Behind the Curtain (1937), and his works continued after that, most notably: Mohamed Ali Street (1944) and Kilo 99 (1955). He passed away in 1962.
