Egyptian singer Ihaab Ahmad Tawfeek was born in January 7, 1966. Being talented since young age, his father encouraged him and made him play lute at the age of seven. Ihaab burnished this talent by joining the Faculty of Music Education, before completing his education at the Arab Music department where he accomplished a great success. He became the lead singer at the faculty. His first appearance was through a competition held by October magazine in 1988, where he achieved big success. One year later, Ihaab launched his debut single He Came to Me, the song was included in the various artist-album Stars Collection 1, and a star was born! Few months later, he launched his debut album As I..., a smash hit, followed by top chart albums Messages, and I Drew You. He then became a direct competitor to superstar Amr Diab. Tawfeek signed a contract with High Quality, the company that produced his album The Night Has Passed, making a great success. Ihaab got a master's degree and a doctorate.
