Fathia El-Assal was an Egyptian writer and intellectual. She was born in 1933, and hasn't received any educational degree due to her father's regressive mentality. However, she insisted on learning to read and write. El-Assal wrote numerous works of television series and plays. Her work for television includes “Lahzet Ekhteyar” (Moment of Choice), “Heya wal Mostahil” (She and the Impossible), and “Hasad Elhob” (Harvest of Love). Her most famous plays include “Leilet el Henna” (Henna Night), “Nesaa bila Aqneaa” (Unmasked Women), “Segn Elnesa” (Women's Prison). She died in June of 2014 at the age of 81.
