Ghassan Jabri is one of the pioneers of television in Syria and one of its founders, born in Damascus in 1933. He obtained a BA in law from Damascus University in 1962. He has practiced theater and television directing since 1961. He worked as an assistant director with Rafik Al-Sabban in the plays The Night of the Kings, Antigone, and Julius Caesar. After shifting to television, he didn't stop working in theater. Among the awards he received is a certificate of Appreciation from Baghdad Festival in 1972 for the series Strangers Do Not Drink Coffee.
