Nihad is a Syrian writer, born in the city of Aleppo in 1950. His literary inclinations appeared since his childhood, for he composed one-act plays to perform on the school stage. He traveled to Bulgaria to study civil engineering and obtained a master's degree in 1976. He began his literary activity in the early 1980's, writing a number of novels, plays, television drama, and children's dramas. His works include the series Khan Al-Harir (seasons 1&2) and The White Thread (2004).
