A Syrian director, writer and actor, born in Damascus. After completing his studies in the Department of Social and Philosophical Studies at the University of Damascus in the early sixties, he began his career by joining Syrian television, and then he was sent to Germany to take a course in television directing in 1966. His debut as a director was the series From the Archives of Abu Rushdi in 1967, followed by Face to Face the following year, which he also wrote, after which his works continued between cinema, television and theater. Among his credits are The Man S (2001), The Banner People S1 (2008) and The Sacrifice (2014).
