She is an Egyptian actress and writer. She graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art and began her artistic career in the 1970s with a role in the TV movie, The Greatest Men of Islam. She excelled in religious and biographies series, including playing the role of singer Munira al-Mahdiyya in the series Umm Kulthum (1999). She's best known for the series, Cairo and People (1972), Arabesque (1994), and Qasim Amin (2002). She also wrote several films and series that discuss women's issues such as Marriage in Secret (1988), and Sorry, I Refuse That Divorce (1980).
