A Palestinian writer, director, and actor, born in the village of Tayibe (The Triangle). He completed his high school studies and then traveled to East Germany, where he studied theater directing at the Institute of Dramatic Arts, and obtained a master’s degree in theater directing. After graduating, he worked as director of the Municipal Cultural Center in the city of Nazareth. He wrote and directed many plays. He also translated selections from Bertolt Brecht’s works from German to Arabic and published them in Al-Ittihad and Al-Jadeed magazines. He directed the play My Name Is Rachel Corrie (2008). He died on 18 June 2016.
