An Egyptian critic and screenwriter, who received his Ph.D. in Film Criticism at the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1998. He became Professor of Film and Television Criticism at the International Media Academy. He held several positions, including: President of the Alexandria Festival in 2012. He wrote films, such as The Garage, which won 28 local and international awards, and The Assassination of Faten Tawfik. He received a number of awards, including the Tunisian Kelibia Film Festival award for writing and directing the documentary film No Comment (1986).
