Egyptian actor born Gamal Mahmoud Afifi in Menouf, Monufia governorate. He moved with his parents and siblings, including actor Mimo Ramses, to Shubra in the early 1940s. Together, they founded a circus troupe called "Cirque Ramses". Him and his siblings (Mimo, Ratiba and Fawzi) traveled and performed in many countries. Additionally, Gamal and Mimo appeared in several lesser-known films in Europe. In the late 1950s, their sister retired from the troupe so they had to return to Cairo. Upon their return, Gamal appeared in the films Gossip Town (1960), and The Secret Police (1959), in which he appeared alongside Mimo. Afterwards, he traveled with Mimo and their brother Fawzi to Europe, where they produced and starred in a film in Belgium. After the film flopped and lost them lots of money, they had to remain in Europe permanently. They moved between Belgium, France, and the Netherlands until they finally settled in Spain and opened a nightclub called "Scheherazade". During his final years, Gamal lived in the Netherlands, where he worked as a painter and sold his work. He died in 2002 in a hospital in Amsterdam.
