Although she studied ballet at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus and graduated from it in 2003, she turned to television to work as an assistant to her father, director Haitham Hakki in his series, including The Sun Rises Again (2005) and The Dew of Days (2006). She directed the long documentary film The Passage (2005) and then directed TV series such as Scent of Rain (2008) and Abu Khalil Qabbani (2010). Her works were not shown on satellite channels as they are exclusively owned by the Orbit TV Network, which produced them.
