An Egyptian writer and journalist. She was born in Cairo in 1937 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1958. She was a student of (Ali Amin) and (Mustafa Amin). She started her journalistic work in (Akhbar Al-Youm) in the period between (1958-1964), during which she worked as the head of the women's department. She moved to (Al-Ahram Newspaper) in the mid-sixties and remained there until she was appointed in 1993 as editor-in-chief of (Half of the World), the first women's magazine issued by the Al-Ahram Foundation. She had also worked in several administrative positions, including: a member of the General Assembly in Al-Ahram, a member of the Journalists Syndicate Council, a member of the Writers Association, and an expert at the World Bank in Washington. She held several exhibitions in Egypt and abroad, in addition to a large number of articles published in various newspapers and magazines. Among her most famous books that have been turned into dramas is the series (He and She Stories) starring the two stars (Ahmed Zaki) and (Soad Hosny) and directed by (Yahia El Alamy). She got married to the plastic artist (Mounir Kannan), and they had a son.
