An Iranian director, born in Khorramshahr, southern Iran, in 1955. He completed his university studies in the Department of Sociology at Shiraz University. In the 1980s, he joined the Screenplays Study Council and the films group of the first television channel in the Islamic Republic of Iran. From 1955 to 1997, he headed The Administrative Committee of the Iranian Cinema. His notable films include Under the Rain. He died on July 29, 2009, at the age of 54, due to a heart attack.
