A Palestinian director and writer, born in Washington, D.C., where she studied cinema. She began her career by directing commercials, then turned to documentaries and short films, especially after moving to live in Jerusalem. Her first short film was Na'im wa Wadee'a in 1999, and her works continued after that. She's known for Eyes of a Thief (2014) and Pomegranates and Myrrh (2010).
