An Egyptian poet and writer. He was born in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Ain Shams University in 1962, and also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Arabic Literature in 1965. He began writing while he was studying, so he wrote for Radio Alexandria, and presented many dramatic and lyrical works, the most famous of which is the series Saad the Orphan. He went to Cairo in 1958, where he presented the most famous songs of the great singers. He turned to writing radio series, the most prominent of which are The First in Islam, Famous Women, and The Rightly Guided Caliphs, until he wrote the Ramadan Riddles One Thousand and One Nights for 13 years.
