An Iraqi director, born Baghdad in 1958. She obtained a BA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad, where she studied between 1979 and 1980, and a master's degree in special effects directing from the High Cinema Institute in Cairo in 1987. She started her career as an assistant director with prominent directors from Egypt, such as Salah Abu Seif in the film Al-Qadisiyya, Youssef Chahine in films such as An Egyptian story. She directed two feature films, Six by Six and 100%, and from 1980 to 2003, she directed more than 40 cinematic and television documentaries in Iraq, Egypt, Syria and Jordan, including Look, White Dreams, and Angels Die. She directed a number of TV series, including Hotlines.
