An Iraqi actor, director, and writer. He became a university professor in 1981 at the Institute of Fine Arts in Basra and studied directing and acting. He began teaching at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Basra in 1991 after obtaining his doctorate. He studied various theater arts, in addition to the philosophy of aesthetics and the history of Arab theater. He taught in Syrian universities, established a theater workshop in Beirut and Damascus, and participated in several Arab and local festivals. At the beginning of his theatrical career, he founded the Al Sa’a Theater group in Basra, which included a group of theater enthusiasts. Through this group, he presented works, most notably Hamlet Wakes Up Late, and The Clown. In college, his theatrical works received critical attention, awards, and certificates of appreciation, including the play Karouk. This play won the Grand Creativity Award at the 5th Iraqi Theater Festival. He participated in several television works, wrote studies and research papers on the philosophy of theater and its aesthetics, and was published in Arab and Iraqi newspapers and magazines. He is known for the series Shadow of Stories.
