Qatari director and actor. He began his career as a theater actor in 1984, participating in numerous plays and television productions. He received a scholarship to study theater techniques in the United States in 1994, graduating with honors in 1999. He participated in designing...Read more and supervising shows for Universal Studios in Hollywood. He worked in the directing department of Qatar TV in 2000. He directed many television programs and works. After that, he obtained a scholarship to study for a master's degree in television and film directing in the United States of America and graduated in 2005 with honors. He directed a number of short films, most notably For You Alone, I'm at Home, Taxi Driver, and The Fragrance of Shadows. His film, The Return of the Oryx, won the Best Documentary Film Award at the Arab Radio and Television Festival in Tunisia in 2007. He directed his first feature film, Qarangao (2008) for Al Jazeera Children's Channel. He co-founded the Qatar Cinema Forum and was appointed coordinator of the Technology and External Exchange Committee. He is also a board member of the Gulf Theatre.
