An Iraqi researcher in the science and history of ancient religions and civilizations, poet, and playwright, born in Kirkuk in 1951. He completed his studies in Baghdad and obtained a doctorate in ancient history from the Institute of Arab History for Graduate Studies in Baghdad...Read more in 1996. He worked in the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Department of Cinema and Theater, until 1998. He worked between 1973 and 1996 in radio and television, magazines, and Iraqi newspapers, the Union of Writers, and the Department of Cinema and Theater. Then he worked as a university professor at the University of Derna in Libya from 1998 and 2003 as a teacher of ancient history and art history. And between 1996 and 1998, he worked in Jordan and published his first intellectual books. He returned to Iraq in August 2003 and served as Director of the Iraqi Center for Dialogue of Civilizations and Religions in Iraq. And between 2007 and 2014, he lectured at Leiden University and worked in a number of open universities in the Netherlands and Europe, teaching the history of ancient civilizations and religions. He became also a member of the Union of Writers in Iraq, the Union of Arab Writers, the Union of Iraqi Theater Artists, the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, and the Union of Arab Historians. He wrote plays, in addition to authoring more than fifty books on mythology, ancient history, ancient religions, poetry, and theater. He is known for Sidra, Flood, and Here Is Baghdad.
