She is an American actress and screenwriter, born on September 9, 1983 in Los Angeles, California. Her grandfather is director Elia Kazan, and her parents are writers and directors Nicholas Kazan and Robin Swicord. She began her acting career in Swordswallowers and Thin Men (2003). She graduated at Yale University in 2005. She subsequently appeared in several films including Revolutionary Road (2008), Ruby Sparks (2012) which she also wrote, and The Big Sick (2017).
