An Irish novelist and producer, born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He studied at a local Catholic school before going to university, obtaining a doctorate in history, and then becoming a freelance journalist. He wrote several novels, such as "Havoc, in Its Third Year" and "The Catastrophist." He's known for Top Boy, Public Enemies, and Gunpowder.
