Edward M. Zwick born in Chicago on October 8, 1952 is an American director and producer. He earned his B.A from Harvard in 1974 with a Master's degree from AFI Conservatory in 1975. His most famous directorial works include the films: Glory, Legends of the Fall, The Siege, The Last Samurai, Blood Diamond, and Defiance. Zwick runs a film production company called The Bedford Falls Company which produced such notable films such as 'Traffic' and 'Shakespeare in Love.' As the producer, he won an Oscar for Best Picture for 'Shakespeare in Love'; he was also nominated in the same category for 'Traffic.'
