An American singer, dancer, and songwriter, born in 1958 in Gary, Indiana. His talent appeared in his childhood, and his artistic career began in 1963 when he became a member of the Jackson 5 band, which included his four brothers, Jermaine, Jackie, Tito, and Marlon. With the band, he achieved resounding success and fame. By 1967, Michael became the lead singer of the band. In 1971, Jackson released his first song, Got To Be There, which became a hit. He followed it with the song Ben, which was well-recieved by critics at the time. Michael continued to find success away from the Jackson 5. In 1978, he starred in the musical The Wiz, opposite singer Diana Ross, but the film did not achieve the desired success. Jackson then collaborated with producer Quincy Jones on his first solo album Off The Wall in 1979. Jackson continued to release albums, including Thriller in 1982, which is the best-selling album of all time. Jackson's huge success earned him the title King of Pop. On June 25, 2009, American pop legend Michael Jackson died at the age of 50, of a heart attack, after paramedics tried to revive him for an hour. He appeared in the films Moonwalker (1988), and Men in Black II (2002).
