He is an American director, screenwriter and producer, born on August 2, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio. He studied at Wheaton College before earning a master's degree in writing and philosophy from Johns Hopkins University. His films include: A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), the Scream film series, and Red Eye (2005). He was acknowledged for his remarkable work in horror films.
