An Egyptian actor, born in 1941 in Cairo. He studied drama and directing at the American University in Cairo, and worked with director Youssef Chahine in the films Cairo Station (1958) and Lovers' Call (1960). He was playing in the band Sky Rocket in the sixties, and Youssef Chahine advised him to travel to the United States to study drama there. Indeed, he traveled to America, where he studied directing at Yale University, and after he completed his studies, he worked on the American television, writing and directing many comedy series, which amounted to more than 25 series from 1976 to 2009.
