Sandra Bullock was born in Arlington County, Virginia. She is the daughter of German opera and voice trainer Helga D. Meyer. Her father John Bullock worked as a construction contractor for the U.S. department of defense. Sandra’s paternal grandfather was a rocket scientist from Nuremberg in Germany. Her family moved to Washington while she was a teenager after which she studied at East Carolina University in North Carolina. Bullock then moved to Manhattan to pursue acting before moving to Hollywood. The cinema title “Speed” led to her career taking off.
