Egyptian shaabi singer who started his artistic career in weddings and fairs in the sixties and gained his fame in nightclubs and halls by singing with dancers in the eighties. He acted and sang in movies. He is known for The Berry and the Cane (1986), Ramadan Above the Volcano (1985), and Silence of Sheep (1995).
