Amanda Peet is an American actress who was born in New York City on January 11, 1972. Peet graduated from Columbia University with a degree in history. While at Columbia, she studied with acting teacher Uta Hagen. Peet’s first on screen appearance was in a television commercial for Skittles. Among the first roles to bring her wider recognition was a role in “The Whole Nine Yards” (2004) in which she starred alongside Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis. Since then Peet has had a successful career since the 2000s appearing in a variety of films including "Identity" (2003), "Something's Gotta Give" (2003), "A Lot Like Love" (2005), “Syriana” (2005) "2012" (2009) and "Identity Thief" (2013).
