Guy Ritchie is an English screenwriter and filmmaker who was born on the 10th of September, 1968. Ritchie’s first feature length film was 1998’s “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” which has received positive reviews from critics. Apart from its critical success the film is also notable for introducing actor Jason Statham to the mainstream as well as marking the start of former soccer star Vinnie Jones’ film career. Ritchie’s second feature length film, “Snatch”, came in 2000. This time major Hollywood names such as Brad Pitt and Benicio del Toro were involved in the production of the film which, just like Ritchie’s previous film, was of the heist genre. Over the next few years Ritchie continued to produce films in the heist genre and maintained his collaboration with Jason Statham. Most recently Guy Ritchie directed “Sherlock Holmes”. Guy Ritchie was married to pop legend Madonna between 2000 and 2008 when the couple got a divorce.
