A British author and producer, born on January 6, 1954 in England. He graduated from the University of Hull. He began his directing career in 1978 with the movie A Little Like Drowning. His works include: Truly Madly Deeply, The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley and Cold Mountain. He passed away on March 18, 2008.
