George Clooney is an American actor and filmmaker who was born on the 6th of May, 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky. Clooney is widely recognized as one of Hollywood’s most successful actors as he has so far earned two Golden Globe Awards and an Academy Award. Although Clooney had his acting debut in the late ‘70s he only began attracting public recognition when he assumed a leading role in the highly acclaimed medical drama “ER”. Whilst on “ER” Clooney was cast leading roles in several film such as “Batman and Robin”. A major landmark in his career occurred in 2001 when Clooney starred in “Ocean’s Eleven” – the title was to become a major commercial success. Clooney has since expanded his activities to directing and filmmaking in general and had his directorial debut in 2002 when he directed “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind”. George Clooney has also undertaken a great deal of humanitarian work.
