A lyric poet who was born in Damascus in 1921. In 1942, he began his journey with lyrical poetry with the first Syrian song in the local dialect. His words were sang by many of the stars of the Arab World, such as Sabah, Shadia and Faiza Ahmed, to increase his number of songs to more than two thousand. He died on June 2, 2011 at the age of ninety in Damascus. He worked in the movies Meeting in Palmyra (1965), Love in Istanbul (1966), Tailor for Women (1969), and Funny Thief (1970).
