Indian screenwriter who studied English at DePauw University and studied Communications in San Francisco. She spent a while working in advertising with SONY. She's known for Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and Fanaa (2006). In 2011, she won both the International Indian Film Academy Award and the Zee Cine Award for Best Story for My Name Is Khan (2010).
