Egyptian playwright, born in Suez in 1944. He became a professor at the Department of Drama and Criticism at the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts at the Academy of Arts. He obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Vienna in 1990. He received a bachelor's degree from the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, Department of Drama and Criticism in 1971 and a bachelor's degree in law from Ain Shams University in 1976. He also obtained a postgraduate diploma from the Department of Journalism and Publishing, Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University in 1978. He became an active member of the Egyptian Writers Union and was appointed as a teaching assistant at the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, Department of Drama and Criticism in 1981. He then became a professor. He taught at the Faculties of Specific Education in Damietta, Cairo, and Ain Shams. He is known for Mom and Dad's Gang (2009).
