Iranian actor and screenwriter, born in the city of Rasht, Northern Iran in 1948. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Literature. He debuted his film career with Downpour (1972) directed by Bahram Beyzaie. He won the Best Actor award at the 17th Fajr International Film Festival. His credits include Small Green (2008), and The Color of Paradise (1999).
