Tony Gilroy is an American screenwriter and filmmaker who was born in Manhattan, New York on November the 11th, 1956. Gilroy’s family is no stranger to art as his father was a Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright while his mother practiced sculpting and writing. Moreover, his brother Dan Gilroy is also a screenwriter while his other brother is an editor. Gilroy has contributed the screenplays to some of Hollywood’s best known films including “Armageddon” (1998) and all three movies of “The Bourne” trilogy. In 2007 Gilroy wrote and directed “Michael Clayton” thus earning an Oscar nomination for the effort.
