Syrian playwright and poet, born in the city of Homs, Syria in 1946. He was known as a lyrical and folk poet and worked in The Baath Vanguards Organization for 27 years, during which he presented numerous works such as lyrical operettas, plays, national festivals’ anthems, and children’s songs. He presented the Vanguard program on Syrian TV for 20 years. He wrote about 2,500 songs for famed Arab singers. He won the Theater Award in Syria and The Children's Song Award at Cairo Festival. He died of stomach cancer on December 26, 2001, at age 56.
