An American actor, producer, and writer of German descent, born in Oregon in August 1967. He graduated from Southern Oregon University in 1993 with a degree in theater. He began his career by appearing in the films, such as Black Hawk Down (2001), and also appeared in the play Macbeth on Broadway. He participated in the series Law & Order, and in 2009, he participated in the series Modern Family, for which he won two Emmy Awards.
