Walid Mardiny was a Syrian writer and folk storyteller. He was born on October 30, 1937 in Damascus. His passion for writing began during the preparatory stage at the Institute of Sciences and Arts in Damascus. He presented more than 11,000 radio works recorded in the archives of Damascus Radio, in addition to his stage and television works. He died in May 17, 2000.
