Adel Abu Shanab was a Syrian novelist and writer, born in Damascus in the Al-Qaymariya neighborhood in 1931. In 1952, he earned his degree from the Faculty of Arts in Damascus, Department of Philosophy and Psychology. He worked as Editor and Chief Editor in several newspapers and magazines such as Tishreen Newspaper and Layla Magazine. His credits include the Egyptian radio series Unknown Heroism (1955). He passed away in 2012.
