Syrian director and writer born in Hama in 1942. Ghassan joined the Higher Institute of Cinema in Cairo, and graduated in 1969. In 1973, he was appointed head of the cinema section in the Political Department while performing his military service for two years where he wrote and directed several documentaries on Tishreen Liberation War. He wrote many documentaries and cultural programs. He joined the Artists Guild in 1969. He is married with 3 children.
