Syrian writer, born in Damascus in 1931. He was forced to drop out of school in 1944. He began writing stories in 1958. He also wrote short critical articles and children’s stories. He traveled to live in Britain in 1981. He held several positions, for example, editor-in-chief of...Read more the Al Mawqef Al Adabi magazine, editor-in-chief of Al Dustoor magazine in London, and managing editor of Al Naqid magazine, in addition to his work as a cultural editor for the Riyadh Al Rayes Publishing House, London. His first collection was published in 1960 and was entitled "The Neighing of the White Steed". He co-founded the Writers Union in Syria in late 1969 and was the head of the Private Sector Film Scenarios Committee at the National Film Organization in Syria. He was the head of the jury in the short story competition conducted by the Syrian newspaper Tishreen in 1981 and the competition conducted by the University of Lattakia in 1979. He was a member of the short story competition committee in Al Tadhamon magazine in London.
